Wills, codicils and inheritance tax

If you haven’t made a will yet, you should. There are many good reasons why

We all tend to put it off: even today, about three out of five people die without making a Will.

Did you know, for example, that if you are not married and your partner dies without a Will (a situation known legally as intestate), you may have to make a claim through the courts or you could even lose your home?

The only way to avoid such problems is to make a Will and to make sure that it is up to date.

At Garside & Hoy, we provide a Will service to clients which is clear and straightforward.

Clarity, judgment and integrity

We advise individuals on all aspects of Will drafting including Inheritance Tax advice and estate planning. We offer appointments at home or in hospital where necessary. We also advise on related matters, such as Lasting Powers of Attorney and Applications to the Court of Protection.

We can review and amend existing Wills or add further clauses (known legally as ‘Codicils’) where necessary.

Fixed Fees

We charge a Fixed Fee of £275 + VAT for a single Will and £375 + VAT for mirror Wills.

We also participate in Will drafting schemes on behalf of a number of charities throughout the year. We have a particular commitment to Will Aid, the national Will campaign which takes place every year.
